Gippslandia was a missing piece of my teenagehood. Returning back to Australia (to regional Victoria no less) from cosmopolitan Singapore left me feeling disconnected. Being a young, angsty creative, and craving the city, it was hard to find my place.

If I had had Gippslandia in my corner then, I think I would have felt differently a lot quicker. As it provides a platform to connect to other creatives, the community and share stories. I want other young people to feel that way too – to be inspired by the region and the people living in it.

Asheda is based in Nilma North and Melbourne.
